Shen Yun Performing Arts at Steven Tanger Center

Shen Yun — the globe's unrivaled music and dance troupe — has announced 2026's calendar of shows throughout many of the United States' most prestigious theaters, which includes the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday 4th March 2026!

Before the age of Communism, FIVE MILLENNIA of arts, legends, and culture prospered in every curve of China's mainland, and year after year, the NYC-founded Shen Yun revives these perennial treasures for all to enjoy! 2026 is no exception.

Heavenly gods walking across the country. Sprawling steppes swept by nomadic hordes of Mongols. And the wartime heroics of fearless warriors. Shen Yun’s yearly exhibitions explore the many legends and sagas that spanned the nation's empires, creatively portraying their calamities and fortunes with teachings from Buddhist and Taoist creeds to polish each story.

The approaching production will feature twenty narrative sections of ethereal performances in about 2 hours. Expertly instructed dancers decked in delightfully vibrant garb will glide to the floor, chronicling the show’s tales with 17 to 18 complex folk dance sequences. In addition, 2 to 3 vocal and instrumental solos will accentuate these episodes with soaring melodies — both original and traditional.

A live orchestra will play sweeping music throughout the event, inventively incorporating Chinese and Western instrumentation. In terms of stagecraft, Shen Yun employs a cutting-edge virtual background to render life-like scenarios, pulling audiences into the expanse of China before Communism in a spectacular fashion.

For the trip's stop in North Carolina's city of Greensboro, the premier Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts will open as host. Its stunning stage, graced by many of the past century's hottest acts, will lay the foundation for the spectacular show, further elevating it with splendid sight lines, immaculate lighting, and pitch-perfect acoustics.
