Based on the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. Hamilton covers Hamilton’s life as an American Founding Father and his participation in the American Revolution and the economic history of early America. Not to mention Hamilton's untimely end by Vice President Aaron Burr in a duel.
After debuting in 2015, the show went on to take home 8 Drama Desk Awards, 11 Tony Awards from 18 nominations, and the Pulitzer Prize in 2016.
Miranda and the cast of the show seek to tell the tale of "America then, as told by America now." To do so, the production aims to cast black and Hispanic actors as the American Founding Fathers and other big roles.
