AVTT/PTTN Tickets
Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts | Greensboro, North Carolina
One of the most unexpected crossovers in recent history, AVTT/PTTN, The Avett Brothers & Mike Patton, come to the Steven Tanger Center on Friday, April 17th. The Avett Brothers' folk roots mix surprisingly well with Mike Patton's harder rock tunes. In a recent interview, Scott Avett talked about how the partnership came to be, and it almost seems like it came down from the almighty. Scott mentioned that he didn't even remember who gave him Mike Patton's number, but the texts got sweeter, and the talks got longer, and here we are!

AVTT/PTTN: All-In Experience
There are people out there on social media who are seeing dates for this tour drop near their city, who are still in awe of the fact that these two are working together. The Avett brothers recognized that they were really intrigued by the rock beats and how to incorporate those into their music. What better way to do that than working with Mike Patton, who, in his own right, has never been one to shy away from experimenting with his music. One thing led to another, and that's how we got Heaven's Breath and Eternal Love. Catch up on those tracks so you're ready for this April 17th concert!
Is This More Rock or Americana?
A couple of listening sessions, starting with their live performance on Jimmy Fallon's show, could give you a good reason on where AVTT/PTTN's coming from. Overall, though, you could argue they've been able to find a good balance not only on a song-to-song basis, but within each track. The Avett Brothers recognized their eagerness to incorporate more traditional rock beats to their tracks, but it's not like Mike Patton is shying away from the folk and Americana side. That's evident even in the lyrics. Simply put, we don't get crossovers of this caliber all that often. That's reason enough to catch these guys live.
Seats at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts
Spots next to the stage can offer that closeness with a performer that you might be looking for. Then again, keep in mind that Mike Patton's coming in with heavier guitar lines. You might be too keen to have those blasting near you. The good news is that the view from the upper levels, even toward the very back of this venue, is amazing. You'll be able to spot better deals on tickets in those sections than you would toward the front.
