Story
The story begins in Cob County, where an engaged couple named Maizy and Beau are planning their nuptials. However, the celebration takes an unexpected break when the towns corn suddenly starts to die. The still unmarried couple agree to postpone things and join the town in fretting about its crops.
Maizy decides to find answers in Florida. After she arrives in Tampa, she meets Gordy, who is fronting as a corn doctor. Gordy promises to help her save her towns crops, even though he's only interested in her expensive bracelet to satisfy his mob debts - and drama follows.
