Origins

Kimberly is a Girl trapped in a 72-year-old elderly lady, and a teen that has decided to live every day as if its the last. After having a talk with a friend, And getting the reply “Oh, she’s amazing—she’s like this little old woman trapped in a baby’s body”, David Lindsay-Abaire thought of "Kimberly Akimbo" for the first time.

Kimberly Akimbo is a performance that debuted Off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club NYC on February 4, 2003. Starred by Victoria Clark, and Directed by Jessica Stone, well known for his ablity for uniting humor and cruel reality.

Story

The tale begins in 1999 in suburban New Jersey, a girl called Kimberly was born with a disorder that made her age four and a half times than she actually is. Put in an difficult reality to experience mortality and adolescence simulataniously.

Unlike the rare clinical condition, she is struggling with, Kimberly is rarely the center of attention in her life, in fact, you will see her unselfishly consumed by her family’s recklessly, which places her in various emotional pressures including psychological strain, financial struggle, social isolation, and the need for belongingness.
