Andrew Bird

We love Andrew Bird’s violin playing and whistling. Andrew Bird is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who combines elements of indie folk, rock and baroque pop. Our repertoire includes Fake Palindromes, A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left, Three White Horses, Pulaski at Night and Capsized. His latest album, Sunday Morning Put-On, was released in 2024. Andrew Bird’s My Finest Work Yet was nominated for a Grammy for Best Folk Album in 2020. Bird has also collaborated with a wide range of other artists, including Fiona Apple and The National, and has composed soundtracks for films. Bird’s whistle motif is a recurring textural device that gives his music a recognizable and highly unusual aural signature. Andrew Bird’s music and solo career as a composer and performer has evolved across a wide-ranging career that has spanned work with the alt. roots band Squirrel Nut Zippers as well as the release of a solo discography of more than a dozen albums that have brought him much critical and commercial success in the United States.
